Mendoza, Adventure Tourism World Stage
Adventure travel has become increasingly an activity that attracts more people around the world. No proposals have been developed only for families with young children, but more and more companies opt for adventure tourism trips to strengthen team spirit and interpersonal relationships. And the province of Mendoza in Argentina is emerging as one of the most important tourist destinations for adventure tourism worldwide. Its stunning natural scenery lend wonders for the many variations that this type of activities offered, and different levels of difficulty. In short, Mendoza adventure tourism is beginning to impose its own specific weight.
One of these scenarios is the Cordon del Plata. This name is a part of the Andes which sits entirely in the province of Mendoza, especially about Tupungato and Lujan de Cuyo. These are mostly high-altitude peaks of over 4,000 meters, among which is the continent's peak, Mount Aconcagua, with nearly 7,000 feet, Silver Peak, of 5,900 meters and the Silver Hill 6050 meters.
Clearly, the area offers ideal sites for rappelling rope-climbing-or mountaineering, being the main dish of this proposal climbing Aconcagua, reserved only for experts. You can also mountain biking along the steep slopes, or horseback riding. In this way, you can organize horseback riding several days, during which you have to sleep under the stars, conquer the rugged local geography.
In addition, the Cordon del Plata offers a multitude of streams, rivers and lakes, ideal for rafting, kayaking or fishing. Two major rivers flow in this area: the Mendoza and Tunuyán, rivers may become abundant and aggressive in certain stretches, or gentle streams that lend themselves to the first water adventure. Precisely, Mendoza is highly coveted as a site for rafting because it offers a wide variety of locations for practice, from quietest for beginners, to sectors considered impossible for navigation, reserved only to the most seasoned athletes. In short, Mendoza adventure tourism provides many alternatives for all tastes and budgets.
