Review of business opportunities at the Fair Franchising

The headquarters of the franchise exhibition was the GMEX. He has a lovely location, situated in the heart of Manchester and surrounded by beautiful old buildings and new. There are great restaurants, bars and cafes all within easy walking distance.

The list of exhibitors at the franchise exhibition in Manchester has been extensive and varied opportunities available to businesses from a minimum of £ 5000 all the way up to 100,000.

The majority of exhibitors used standard pattern of shell and stuck their posters on the wall ready to greet potential franchisees. A few had spent a small fortune, with stands or specially constructed for the exhibition that really stands out from the crowd.

The list of participants of the franchisor has all the usual suspects, such as groups of cash, my house, Punch Taverns, Chips and Distance CityLocal course.

There were a couple of franchise really interesting that caught my attention. One offered a beauty treatment that promised a tighter tummy after a few treatments. They were doing free treatments for anyone bold enough to lie on their bed and expose their bellies before the public.

There was another unusual franchise that was in my mind. It 'was a small van, decorated with logos and custom-built to provide sandwiches and coffee to business parks. I can imagine people queuing to buy lunch from this well-designed business on wheels.

The exhibition was really busy on Friday until 02:30. Then slowly the crowd started dispersing, and the show closes at 5:00 pm. Fran Info the organizers on drinks and snacks for the exhibitors after the place closed and this was our chance to talk with other franchisors.

I find that on the Friday we met a lot of punters are serious and Saturday you get a lot of kickers "tire" attending. People need to take a break from their normal routine work on Friday to participate and are therefore more serious about starting a business, and on Saturday you get some people in who have never thought of purchasing a franchise.

Later that night, we ended up in a nice Italian restaurant just across the street after a busy Friday. Thurs (5/7 Mosley Street - Tel: 0161 228 2030) must be the best Italian restaurant in the United Kingdom. The food was excellent, the service was great and the bill for all 6 of us including drinks came to 120 pounds. It's worth driving to Manchester just to eat at this fabulous restaurant.

Last Saturday, the show did not start until 10:00 so we had time to check out the hotel, unload our luggage into the car and have breakfast at McDonalds.

Saturday was much busier than Friday, but luckily for us the shows ended at 4:00 pm. As soon as the last participant on the left, then everyone started to dismantle their stands and within an hour most of the exhibitors had finished and were heading home.

We were in the car and reached Leicester at 8:00 pm, just in time for some good home cooking made courtesy of Zak Auzma beautiful new wife.

All in all, the show was worth it to participate, although not as busy as Birmingham. Our next show is in Doncaster and we hope to see you there .......
