Tips Before Starting Website Design and Web Development

The world of web design is huge and complex. Moreover, with new innovations every day, has become even more complex. Every day new and new technologies are coming and making the development easier and faster for the end user. However, there are basic rules that are high for all time and changes.

1) Content: The most important thing to remember about popular web sites is that they are always rich in content. When someone visits your site, are always looking for something on your website. If the content is not enough to explain the purpose of the site, so visitors will no longer stay on your site.

2) Graphics: Limit the size of each image to about 10-12 KB. Although the number of broadband users is increasing, the tolerance of slow loading pages is still nil. Huge images cause web pages to load very slowly and so, they should be optimized appropriately. Now days, all major search engines because of the time of loading the site and ranks them in order to use the graphic needs more attention.

The images that you put on your web site should be consistent with the content there. Graphics creates the first impression of the site. So it should be very neat and clear and easy to convey your message.

3) Web page design and appearance: always prefer the standard style layout for the page. Web site visitor to navigate and has learned a lot and observed a basic method of surfing. So if you try to give them a new way of navigation or present content in a different way then the chances are high that people accept your new look or not. Try to provide easy navigation of the website content and are present in fewer clicks.

Another important element is the white space. It decides how presentable the content of the page appears. However, the overuse or even measured the Whitespace can have contrasting effects.

Graphs can be used as design elements on the page of the site. For example, you can wrap text around an image and load it on the web page.

4) Fonts: Always use Serif for headlines and sans-serif font for the text on the site. Because of the low screen resolution of computer monitors, sans serif fonts make text readable. But if the serif font for the text content of the web site, may have a blurred effect and will not be readable.

Make use of standard font families. Stick to fonts such as Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica. They would make the content look better.

5) Advertising: visitors to your web site does not come to see the ads, but to find information they need. No visitor would stay if the ads on the website overwhelm the content on it. Ads are necessary to gain, but to frighten the visitors would defeat the very purpose of the site .......
