How to Create Sitemap From The On Your Website

Today I want to talk about the importance of an HTML sitemap on your website.

First things first, what is a sitemap in HTML? A sitemap is a real page Web site that describes the complete structure of the site, and links to all important pages of the site.

If you see an example, see "Files" section of my blog here: http://fernando-amaro.com/archives.

I called "files", but this is just an HTML sitemap, as it describes the structure of all the post I posted every month, and also links them all.

Now, it is important not to confuse an HTML sitemap XML. An XML sitemap also describes the structure of your site, but the only XML format understood by the robots of search engines. If you view an XML sitemap will only see a lot of code.

The XML sitemap is useful if you have problems crawling the site. That is, if the robots of search engines do not index well all the pages of your site.

However, if you do not have these problems, it is necessary to have an XML sitemap, but I personally I have created on my blog.

On the other hand have a HTML sitemap can be very useful anyway. Firstly because it is useful to human visitors, allowing them to find any page within the site quickly.

Second, and most importantly, the HTML sitemap is a great way to distribute link juice and PageRank among all pages of your site.

Ideally, that you had linked all the pages with HTML sitemap HTML sitemap and links to all pages (you can exclude, if you wish, pages are not as important as your privacy policy, or the contact page) One way to do this is to put a link to the HTML sitemap on the main navigation or footer of your site.

Finally, an interesting point that few people know: get external backlinks pointing to your HTML sitemap is very good for SEO. Why? Because the link juice will go directly to all pages of your site. If you get a backlink pointing to an internal page (eg a blog) will have to go through at least one dive before transferring the link juice to other pages.

The links to the HTML sitemap, on the contrary, the link juice goes directly to all other pages of the site. This is a very good way of optimizing the internal distribution of PageRank on your site.

So the next time you make a post as a guest point considering signing the link to your sitemap HTML, rather than to the home page.

If you are using WordPress and want to create an HTML sitemap as mine, just install this plugin: WP-Archives.

That's the name of the plugin that creates the sitemap for you. Once you have installed and activated, you must create a new page and call, for example, "Files" and insert the following: wp_archives->

For your success,
